OVERVIEW:
Soundview Heating & Air Conditioning welcomes the opportunity to provide you with a Planned Maintenance Agreement for the HVAC equipment located at your home.
The objective of the maintenance program is to:
- To perform manufacturer recommended annual maintenance.
- Reduce energy consumption.
- Help extend the useful life of the HVAC equipment.
- Protect and optimize the investment made in the HVAC equipment.
- Identify and offer solutions to problems that if left unresolved, could result in HVAC equipment failure and/or downtime.
SCOPE OF WORK FOR THE AIR CONDITIONING SEASON:
At the time of the cooling maintenance inspection the following will be performed on the equipment:
- Meet with you “the customer” and discuss the overall operation of your system. The technician would like to find out if you are happy with the operation of your unit or if problems exist so we may address these concerns.
- He will look at your thermostat set-points, review with you and adjust your program if you need it and replace the batteries.
- Replace the main disposable air filters (or cleaned if applicable). This filter is typically a Merv 6 rated filter.
- Amperages shall be checked to assure equipment is operating within the manufacturer’s suggested rating.
- Condensate pan(s) will be inspected and flushed to assure proper condensate flow leaving the unit.
- Electrical connections, contacts and fuses will be inspected.
- The system refrigerant charge (system pressure) on each piece of equipment will be checked.
- Visually inspect evaporator and condenser coils.
- Run the system and document the system temperature readings.
SCOPE OF WORK FOR THE HEATING SEASON:
At the time of each heating maintenance inspection the following will be performed on the equipment:
- Meet with you “the customer” and discuss the overall operation of your system. The technician would like to find out if you are happy with the operation of your unit or if problems exist so we may address these concerns.
- He will look at your thermostat set-points, review with you and adjust your program if you need it and replace the batteries.
- Replace the main disposable air filters (or cleaned if applicable). This filter is typically a Merv 6 rated filter.
- Amperages shall be checked to assure equipment is operating within the manufacturer’s suggested rating.
- Gas equipment: check and clean in and around the gas burner compartment. Verify all gas burners are igniting. Verify all safety controls and control wiring is not brittle, corroded or burnt. Verify the pressure switches are working properly. Verify the inducer draft assembly is operating properly and all hosing is clear. Check flue piping from the unit to the chimney breach.
- If the gas furnace or gas boiler is a high efficiency unit we will inspect and clear the secondary heat exchanger condensate trap.
- Oil equipment: Replace the oil nozzle, oil canister filter cartridge, oil pump strainer. Clean burner electrodes and replaced if damaged. Brush down the sections of the boiler and vacuum out the base. Blow back the oil lines to the oil tank and purge the lines out.
- The oil pump pressure will be checked and adjusted if needed.
- Both gas and oil systems will have a combustion efficiency test performed.
NOTES PERTAINING TO PLANNED MAINTENANCE:
- SILVER PLAN AGREEMENT
Unless otherwise noted, all required labor to perform planned maintenance inspections in accordance with this Agreement will be performed during normal business hours, 8:00am -4:30pm, M – F. The labor is included to perform maintenance of the listed equipment on the value plan. Labor is NOT included for part replacement, future service calls or any after-hours service calls.
- GOLD PLAN LABOR AGREEMENT
Under Soundview’s gold agreement we offer labor coverage for your convenience and peace of mind. Soundview covers the labor for a list of parts that are common failures in your heating or air conditioning systems. Soundview cannot provide coverage for everything within your system because the cost would be too expensive. Please refer to the covered items within this agreement for the list of items that would be covered under the gold plan. This plan is not valid for ANY oil equipment including boilers, furnaces, or water heaters. The labor coverage is only offered during regular working hours. After-hours service requests would be billed by the technician for the after-hours rate. Any changes, adjustments or repairs made by others, unless authorized or approved by the company in writing, shall terminate its obligation hereunder.
- PLATINUM PLAN PARTS & LABOR AGREEMENT
Under Soundview’s platinum agreement we offer parts and labor coverage for your convenience. Soundview covers parts and labor for a list of parts that are common failures in your heating or air conditioning systems. Soundview cannot provide coverage for everything within your system because the cost would be too expensive. Please refer to the covered items within this agreement for the list of items that would be covered under the gold plan. This plan is not valid for ANY oil equipment including boilers, furnaces, or water heaters. The labor coverage is only offered during regular working hours. After-hours service requests would be billed by the technician for the after-hours rate. Any changes, adjustments or repairs made by others, unless authorized or approved by the company in writing, shall terminate its obligation hereunder.
- SERVICE REPORT
Soundview will generate a work summary report at the end of each inspection outlining the work performed, problems found (if any) and recommendations for items requiring additional attention (if applicable) pertaining only to the equipment covered in Schedule “A”
- Work Excluded under this agreement:
Soundview offers 3 types of service agreements dependent on your needs for coverage. Soundview offers labor agreements that will provide covered labor for specific parts listed in schedule A.
Soundview will NOT provide the parts or labor coverage for any major parts for any reason, for the following listed parts:
- Identification, detection, abatement or removal of asbestos or materials containing asbestos or other hazardous substance or material, Damages, or repairs to pre-existing conditions, any line voltage wiring, breaker panels, disconnect switches etc., Compressor or labor for replacement, Condenser coil or labor for replacement, indoor evaporator coil or the labor for replacement.
- Ductwork or the labor for replacement or any repairs, Chimneys metal or brick. Repairs or inspections. Customer should contact a chimney company.
- Backflow preventer, control boards for high efficiency boilers like: Buderus, Triangle tube, Rinnai, Bosch, or Weil McLain Ultra boilers. Not every brand has been listed but these would be comparable boilers.
- No labor or parts would be covered for electronic air cleaners, fire dampers, floor furnaces, heat exchangers, boiler piping or headers, circulator re-piping, gas piping or gas mains, house plumbing or domestic water lines, humidifier replacement, hydro air coils or replacement, air handlers or air handler replacement, plugged heat exchangers or secondary heat exchangers, pool heaters, power vented water heaters, Lennox Pulse furnaces, retrofitted forced draft inducers, package units, wall hung boilers or labor for replacement of this type of boiler.
- RECOMMENDED REPAIRS
The customer agrees to accept the judgement of Soundview Heating & Air Conditioning Corp. as to the best means or methods for corrective repair work. A technician may contact the manufactures technical support on your behalf and be required to establish a case number. Technical support may recommend Corrective measure we may have to follow. In the event a customer doe not approve the recommended repairs, Soundview will not be held responsible for any damages, including but not limited to incidentail and or conseqentail damages associated with such non-approved repair work.
Soundview Heating & Air Conditioning will only warranty parts purchased and istalled by Soundview Heating & Air Conditioning Corp. Soundview warranties all parts and workmanship for a period of one (1) year from installation.
Soundview Heating & Air Conditioning Corp. assumes no liability for a lack of system performance resulting from a customer’s failure to authorize recommended repair work. Service calls of a repetitive nature Example: more than two calls related to a previously identified problem that hasn’t been aproved for repair, will be concidered a billable service call.
- EQUIPMENT ACCESSIBILITY
The customer agrees to provide unencumbered access to all HVAC equipment for both planned maintenance inspections and all service calls. Failure to do so may result in additional costs if a return visit is required due to inaccessibility of the HVAC equipment. Soundview is further not obligated to honor any warranties associated with equipment or be liable for any property damage if adequate accessibility is not provided.
- SPACE PROTECTION
If additional space protection is required, it will be the responsibility of the owner/owner’s representative to take the necessary precautions. Soundview assumes no responsibility or liability for damages because of the failure of the owner to adequately protect the space. Soundview is further not obligated to honor any warranties associated with the equipment or be liable for any property damage if you have failed to maintain the equipment free of debris, free of water damage, such as spillage into the system, unexpected exposure to water, or any similar situation, overcrowding and all other conditions which would result in damage to the equipment.
- SCHEDULING
Upon receipt of payment for your contract at our office, A representative of Soundview HVAC will contact you by your preferred method of phone, text, post card or email to schedule your next maintenance visit. Please note that in the event any calls or emails go unanswered by the designated contact provided by you, Soundview reserves the right to not perform the inspection for which the call was originally placed. Soundview will make a minimum of three (3) consecutive attempts per inspection to schedule the planned visit. In the event a planned maintenance inspection is missed for which Soundview made a minimum of three (3) consecutive attempts to schedule the planned maintenance visit, there will be no adjustment to the fees charged and/or paid under the Agreement. It is the customer’s responsibility to notify Soundview as soon as possible of any change in the preferred contact method.
- Effective Start date:
If the agreement is accepted on or before the 15th of the month the effective start date will be the 1st. If the agreement is accepted on or after the 16th of the month the effective start date will be the 1st of the following month. A 10-day wait period will be in effect for any service calls under any plan.
- GENERAL NOTES
Soundview Heating & Air Conditioning Corp. shall not be liable for lack of equipment performance or damages resulting from, but not limited to unexpected freezing, vandalism, strikes, fires, third party control system failure, accidents, theft, sabotage, abuse of the equipment under contract, Acts of God or other unexpected incidental or consequential damages. Soundview Heating & Air Conditioning Corp. is not obligated to perform any service until this Agreement is accepted and returned to Soundview Heating & Air Conditioning Corp. with the appropriate payment. This Agreement may not be transferred or assigned without prior written consent by Soundview Heating & Air Conditioning Corp. This document contains the entire agreement between both parties and there are no other warranties or representations expressed or implied. No modifications, additions or changes may be made, unless in writing and signed by both parties. The service agreement between Soundview Heating & Air Conditioning Corp (contractor) and the customer is in effect for one full year from the signed start date. This contract will ONLY be in effect when full payment has been made. A signature only does not provide the customer with maintenance coverage. Soundview Heating & Air Conditioning will discontinue service if full payment has not been made on a renewal contract. This agreement may be canceled by the customer within 30 days of its expiration with written notice. The term of the Plan is for a one (1) year period and will be renewed automatically every year unless terminated by either the customer or Company. No credit will be issued if the Plan is canceled before the expiration date.
EMERGENCY RESPONSE TIME
It is always Soundview’s intention to provide same day service. For calls received between 8:00am – 12:00 pm (M-F) Soundview will typically respond the same day. For calls received after 12:00 pm Soundview may respond the same day or more likely the following day.
Please note Soundview provides emergency service 24/7 yet overtime charges apply before 8:00 am and after 4:30 pm (M-F) independent of when the call was initially placed.
Please note that while it is our intention to operate as noted above, it is possible during times of extreme temperatures that we may fall outside of these guidelines and Soundview shall not be liable to you for any consequential and/or incidental damages associated therewith, if any.
